Key Features
Raw Edge Cut Construction
Raw edge cogged belts do not use textile wrapping on the outer surface. Instead, they are manufactured by slitting individual belts from a rubber sleeve, which is why they are also referred to as cut edge belts. This manufacturing method improves belt flexibility and power transmission efficiency.
Molded Cogged Underside
The belts feature molded cogs on the underside, which significantly reduce bending resistance. This allows the belt to operate efficiently on pulleys with approximately 20% smaller diameters compared with conventional wrapped belts.
Reduced Mechanical Losses
Lower bending resistance during operation reduces mechanical energy losses during belt flexing. This leads to improved transmission efficiency and lower operating temperatures.
Improved Heat Dissipation
Heat dissipation is enhanced due to the larger surface area between the belt and surrounding air. Additionally, air turbulence created around the cogs during operation further improves cooling performance.
High Speed Ratio Capability
These belts support speed ratios up to 1:12, which allows certain multi-stage drive systems to be simplified or eliminated, improving system efficiency and reducing mechanical complexity.
Durable Multi-Layer Construction
The belts are constructed using:
Special top fabric layer for protection
Tough tensile members for increased strength
Polychloroprene cushion rubber compound
Fiber-filled polychloroprene base compound
This combination provides excellent durability and reliable power transmission.
High Tension Capability
Raw edge cogged belts generally require higher operating tension compared to wrapped belts. This higher tension allows the belts to achieve greater power transmission capacity in demanding drive systems.
Reliable Performance in Harsh Conditions
The belts are designed to be antistatic, oil-resistant, and heat-resistant, ensuring reliable performance in industrial environments.
Operating temperature range: –18°C to +100°C
Maximum recommended belt speed: 30 m/s
Applications
Realshow Raw Edge Cogged V-Belts are widely used in industrial drive systems where higher efficiency and compact drive layouts are required.
Typical applications include:
Industrial machinery
High-speed mechanical drives
Drives with small pulley diameters
Systems operating at high ambient temperatures
High power transmission equipment
V-flat drive systems
Machinery using reverse idlers
These belts are also commonly used as replacement belts in industrial drives where wrapped belts may not provide sufficient performance.
